Hello, our names are Adam and Yasaar.

We are both TY Students from The Brunner (St. Pauls CBS) and we’re currently doing work experience at localise. We both recently went to Leo Street and did a quiz with them as our project. We are going to tell you about our time there.

The first time we went up there was on a Monday. We got to chat with all of the elderly people there, they were telling us all sorts of things that they like. It was nice to chat with them and it was a great experience. We learned that they didn’t have any family to go home to so us being up there seemed like it cheered them up. We explained to them that we were planning a quiz for them on different topics for Wednesday that week. They were telling us how excited they were.

On Tuesday, Yasaar wasn’t at work, so I (Adam) had to work on the quiz. At first it was hard to do it by myself, but I eventually remembered the type of things they like. In the quiz I included an Irish round, which was about different Irish stuff, a music round, mainly music from the 70s-90s, and a sports round. It took me around an hour and a half to finish. After that, I decorated lollipops for the elderly. It was a hard day for me since I was by myself, but I was happy that I did everything before I finished work.

On Wednesday, me (Yasaar) and Adam started to prepare the stuff for the quiz. We realised that there were a couple of mistakes on the quiz, so we quickly fixed it. After that, we went out to Leo Street. When we got there, we had to put on costumes. Adam wore a blow up leprechaun costume, and I wore a Chicken costume. I was the announcer for the quiz, and Adam worked on the scores. Throughout the quiz, we had some fun. Everyone was having a good time and we were proud of ourselves. When we checked the scores, it turned out that everyone had the same score. Luckily enough we had enough prizes to give everyone. Everyone there got a milky way tray as their prize. The people there were grateful for the gifts and prizes and also for us being there. At the end we got a picture with everyone.

We had a wonderful time at Leo Street, and we hope to come back again in the future.
