On Thursday, 30th April, a group of Transition Year students from St. Michael’s in Finglas visited the Mater Hospital to celebrate a belated St. Brigid’s Day. During their visit, they had the opportunity to hear from a number of inspiring women in leadership roles across the hospital. The session was led by Dolores Heery, Head of Mission, who introduced speakers including Suzanne Dempsey, Director of Quality Assurance and Organisational Design; Sarah Jayne Miggin, Inclusion Health Clinical Nurse Specialist; Oriyomi Waya; Deirdre Jordan, Catering Manager; and Jennifer Brown, Head of Pharmacy. Each shared their experiences and insights on leadership.

Following the talks, the students brought a sense of joy throughout the hospital, visiting St. Gemma’s Ward and St. Aloysius’ Ward with gifts for both staff and patients. It was a meaningful day filled with generosity, connection, and a strong sense of solidarity.
