Purpose of the Role:
The Integration Development Officer will lead the delivery of Localise’s Volunteering for All
programme, supporting inclusive youth volunteering as a pathway to integration, education,
and employment. The role focuses on engaging young people aged 11–25, particularly
International Protection Applicants (IPAs), refugees, and young people from migrant and
disadvantaged communities, through structured workshops, youth-led volunteering projects,
and community-based action.
The postholder will provide direct programme delivery, coordination, mentoring, and
partnership development, ensuring young people are supported to gain recognised skills,
build social connections, and feel empowered as active contributors to their communities.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Delivery & Youth Support
Deliver structured Volunteering for All workshops in schools and youth services
across Dublin’s North Inner City.
Support young people to design, plan, and deliver youth-led volunteer action projects
over 4–10 weeks.
Provide ongoing mentoring and pastoral support to participants, ensuring
programmes are inclusive, safe, and trauma-informed.
Facilitate mixed-group engagement between IPAs, refugee-background youth, and
host-community young people to promote integration and social cohesion.
Event planning and facilitation.
Integration & Inclusion
Actively challenge racism, exclusion, and negative narratives through youth-led civic
action and dialogue.
Ensure programmes are low-threshold and accessible, removing barriers to
participation for migrant and IPA youth.
Embed rights-based, ethical approaches to storytelling and participation throughout
the programme.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with project partners.
Liaise with principals, Transition Year coordinators, youth workers, and community
partners to recruit participants and embed programmes sustainably.
Support collaboration with contracted filmmakers to co-create short films that
ethically capture participant stories of integration.
Recognition, Progression & Outcomes
Support participants to complete and receive the National Youth Volunteer Portfolio.
Promote pathways into further education, training, and employment through
volunteering recognition.
Coordinate and deliver graduation ceremonies celebrating youth civic contribution
and community impact.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Administration
Maintain accurate records of participation, attendance, and outcomes in line with
Integration Fund requirements.
Contribute to reports, case studies, and evaluation data demonstrating project
impact.
Manage programme logistics, travel, resources, and equipment (including use of
laptop and digital tools).
Skills and Qualifications
Essential
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Youth Work, Social
Care, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 2 years’ experience working with young people in youth work, community
development, or education settings.
Experience working with migrants, refugees, or International Protection Applicants.
Strong understanding of integration, anti-racism, and social inclusion in an Irish
context.
Experience designing and delivering group-based workshops or programmes.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a small, mission-driven
team.
Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and occasional weekends.
Desirable
Qualification in Youth Work, Community Development, Social Care, Education, or
related field.
Experience working in school-based or alternative education settings.
Knowledge of service learning, youth volunteering, or civic engagement models.
Experience with monitoring, evaluation, or funder reporting.
Familiarity with rights-based storytelling or participatory media approaches.
Driving license and access to own vehicle.
