Localise and Your Business

The Localise Community Service Learning Programme engages businesses and professionals in the direct service of the community in which they are based; their professional skills and expertise is harnessed for the benefit of others, developing a positive relationship between corporate and community.

In 2008, our organisation partnered with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the delivery of the first of these programmes, where 20 PricewaterhouseCoopers staff worked with the students of two primary schools in the Sherriff Street area.

The young people from the St. Laurence O'Toole's CVS  Boys School and  the St. Laurence O'Toole Girls' School designed handmade Christmas cards and with the help and guidedance of the adult volunteers, the cards were professionally printed and sold in aid of Temple Street Hospital in the IFSC.

The projects carried out raised  €7,780.00 for the hospital and their fantastic achievement was celebrated with a graduation event where all participants received a certificate in Community Service Learning from guest of honour Mr. Bill Cullen. This successful programme is to be repeated in 2009.

Localise is currently working with two branches of the Starbuck's company based in the IFSC in Dublin 1 engaging their staff in community service work within north Dublin inner city.
